New smells

Smell like a winner

So as you may or may not know, for the longest time Hilfiger has been my scent, and I really do enjoy it:

That's what you're smelling when I walk gracefully past you

However, as time moves on, as should I - and I am currently in the search for a new scent.

I came across this site that stocks really cheap cologne for men and the best part is they do FREE DELIVERIES OVER $95. Sweet.

I've tried Diamonds, and it's pretty nice.
A part of me is thinking of going all out and just getting a whole damn gift set

"Versace Versace, Medusa head on me like I'm 'luminati"

What do you guys reckon?

Holding On

"We live in war, rest in peace
Using hope as a shield when swinging swords against the Beast
Wondering if I got a tragic life ahead of me
Cause on my roads to riches: traffic lights are never green
My imagination is restricted by a migraine
When I try to paint a perfect picture in my mind frame
Dreaded how times change
Friends using drugs and alcohol as anaesthetics for life pain "

Achievement

The other day I finished writing an assignment for my Negotiation unit.

I had to write about a weakness I could isolate from my negotiation skills/performance.
I found that my particular weakness was that I was all too eager to give in to what the other party wants in order to retain an amiable relationship with that other party.

"Winner takes all. Oh who am I kidding, you can have it all. I just like holding your hand"

It makes me reflect on how this desire to be liked by those around you - even strangers who's opinions should matter for naught, is an interesting factor in the outcome of our personalities.
Though I considered this to be a weakness, in essence, everyone shares this attribute.
It is our psychological, and I daresay physiological need to belong (Maslow, anyone?) - to connect with other people and to feel like a part of a collective.

As much as someone desires to be an "individual" and assert that they are 'different to everyone else'; at the core of this assurance is the longing to be adored and by setting themselves apart from the horde, ironically, connect with the collective.

"Screw you guys, I'm a DRAGON!!" "but dude, you're just an egg like the rest of us"

My man Eric Hoffer says it best:
"To a man utterly without a sense of belonging, mere life is all that matters. It is the only reality in an eternity of nothingness, and he clings to it with shameless despair."

Boys and Men

Although both are of the same gender, species and family, there is a very big difference between boys and men. So different, you probably wouldn't even think they were of the same gender.

Firstly, perhaps the most crucial yet fundamental difference lies in what impresses them. Boys can be smitten and impressed  by the appearance of someone. That there, would be enough reason for them to go out of their way and attempt to 'lock this person down'. On the other side of the spectrum, you have men. Men are impressed by the way their partners minds work and how they are as a whole. No short skirts, tight tops and underwear parading will be enough to get them to lock you down. A ring is is a conversation away and the stimulation comes from the mind as opposed to the eyes.

I guess you could say that boys are more attracted by what they see and men are more attracted by what they hear. Breaking that down, this shows that boys and men can come from all ages. There is no age on maturity and no limit to idiocy.

Much love,

Death Derivatives

Talking with a friend about the inevitability and unfairness of death always gets me into a strange, poignant mood.

It is such a harsh reality that everyone has to meet their maker, and not all deaths are under "fair circumstances". Not only that, but there are those that meet their untimely demise without having had the chance to tick off their bucket list, or there are those poor souls that were just treated horribly up until the time of their passing.

Cyanide and Happiness

It's such a harsh reality, the unfairness of death is only reflected by the fairness of life that was experienced. And though most everyone wishes their memory to be honored; to be remembered with fondness, there are so many, too many, who pass on to the next life without being remembered.

These personal thoughts on death makes even the most oblivious individual to reflect on their own lives, and to make choices on how to fully "experience life", to maximize their hopes and dreams, their pleasures, their beliefs, their existence.

Death puns are funnily inapprorpiate

It's all a race against time. Will you become that person that you strive to be, to live the life you want to live, before death comes knocking at your door?

Wrinkly skin

Now before you get ideas about wrinkly knee, elbow, or gonad skin; I am talking about those frown lines and crows feet that people really freak out about.

As shallow as it sounds, I am so fearful of these lines, because even though they are essentially symbolic of wisdom due to growing older; for some reason I have a feeling that it just won't suit my face. I truly believe my smile is horrifying enough even WITHOUT wrinkles on my forehead and god forbid - deep crows feet running from my eyes.

It got me curious about how willing I would be; when that time comes, to inject stuff into my face to try and hold on to some sense of youthfulness/appeal. I found this site which does wrinkle relaxers/fillers, and is it just me or is there a lack of asian faces on there?

Although this one looks pretty close...

But in all honesty, at the end of the day I think it's just going to be one of those things where I won't know for sure until the time comes. Who knows, maybe I will have a late onset of ugly duckling syndrome, and become a real hot DILF?

Here's to hoping.

TI3

Congrats to Alliance for winning the TI3

I know it's a bit late since the grandfinals were on this Monday... but I couldn't just leave it!
I think watching the Dota 2 TI3 has made change my mind about my number 1 dota 2 Crush (Puppey).

Cos watching Alliance's S4 during the tournament was a real eye opener.
Those plays.... oh god those plays...

But no doubt Alliance deserved to win the TI3, they were just consistently strong throughout the whole match. But watching S4's clock and puck plays were just.... dotagasmic.

Alliance holding the Aegis of Champions for winning the Dota 2 TI3!!!
My new crush S4 is the lovely guy on the left hand side with his veins poppin out his neck

Na'Vi was so close... yet so far. Best Grand Final I have ever witnessed.
Even for non dota players I am sure that watching those 5 matches would have stirred something deep within them. And S4 has sure as hell stirred something within me :$

Locked out in the cold

Don't you hate it when you are ready to head out, and in your rush to have a good time you endup locking yourself out of the house with only your phone?

Welcome to my life.

That's me if I were a brunette woman

Locking yourself out of the house is so painfully durr that it's embarrassing to make that call to a locksmith.
But these guys I found are really great locksmiths and not only fast, but understanding too.
Loved the professionalism, and didn't make me feel like a dolt.

Glad I called em and found out that they also do a whole bunch of other stuff too like alarm systems and security doors - pretty much anything to do with security.

I picked them cos they're SOR like me, so it was a pretty short wait.
Would definitely get security services from them if I ever needed it.
(Although I really hope I never hope to lock myself out of the house again - being late means having to buy rounds to make up for lost time, yeowch)

Though it feels like I may have locked my self control at home :( drank way too much and had way too much fun.

Girl's best friend

Because of a friend's upcoming nuptials it's got me thinking a lot about engagement rings, and learning about the differences in diamonds like clarity and cut, etc.

Which of course led me to jumping on Google and looking at rings for over an hour.
Found an awesome site where you can not only search for a specific diamond, but it also TEACHES YOU about diamonds too. Site is called Divinity Diamonds and it's definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a smex engagement ring.

Call me simple, but I think I found a winner here...

This baby is called the PASSION. what a sic name!

As they say, everything that glitters ain't always gold... but diamonds sure as hell do

Schrödinger's relationship

It's like sleepwalking.
A state of zombie like consciousness.
This thing that I've created,
which I am no longer sure is dead or alive.
And I'm left feeling the same.

Can do

One man's trash is another man's treasure
One man's pain is another man's pleasure
We all got the pressure, don't let it get ya
Cos in the end life's just a very long lecture.
You're gonna learn things:
(some) interesting, (most) disturbing.
Make sure your decisions in life aren't all self serving.
So go out and make a few friends,
see the world through their lens,
Listen with your ears
but talk with both hands.
